FIRST LADY CONTE LEADS WALKS FOR CHILD ADVOCACY CENTERS

Nashville –Tennessee First Lady Andrea Conte will lead a series of "AndreaWalks III" events during the month of April to promote National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The goal of the walks are to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and to raise funds for Child Advocacy Centers that provide support programs for child abuse victims and their families.

In 2004, Andrea Conte, a longtime advocate for victims’ rights issues, launched a statewide initiative to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and to raise much-needed funds for Child Advocacy Centers. Through this initiative, the First Lady walked more than 600 miles between all of the Child Advocacy Centers across the state and raised approximately $1.3 million in cash and in-kind donations for these organizations.

Conte will be participating in "AndreaWalks III" with events in Murfreesboro, Oneida, Fayetteville and Nashville. Interested participants in these locations may contact their local Child Advocacy Center for more information or to register.
