FIRST LADY ANDREA CONTE LEADS WALK FOR JUNIORS HOUSE, INC. CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER OF THE 17th DISTRICT

EVENT SET FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2009

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. – On April 28 at 10 a.m., First Lady Andrea Conte will lead an "AndreaWalks" event in Fayetteville to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and to raise funds for the Juniors House, Inc. Child Advocacy Center of the 17th District, which provides support programs for child abuse victims and their families. This is the fifth AndreaWalks for the Child Advocacy Center of the 17th District.

In 2004, Andrea Conte, a longtime advocate for victims’ rights issues, launched a statewide initiative to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and to raise much-needed funds for Child Advocacy Centers. Through this initiative, the First Lady walked more than 600 miles between all of the Child Advocacy Centers across the state and raised approximately $1.4 million in cash and in-kind donations for these organizations.
