FIRST LADY ANDREA CONTE LEADS WALK FOR CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER OF CANNON COUNTY
EVENT SET FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2009

WOODBURY, Tenn. – On April 24 at 10 a.m., First Lady Andrea Conte will lead an "AndreaWalks" event in Woodbury at Dillon Park to raise awareness about child abuse prevention and to raise funds for the Child Advocacy Center of Cannon County, which provides support programs for child abuse victims and their families. This is the second AndreaWalks for the Child Advocacy Center of Cannon County.

In 2004, Andrea Conte, a longtime advocate for victims’ rights issues, launched a statewide initiative to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and to raise much-needed funds for Child Advocacy Centers. Through this initiative, the First Lady walked more than 600 miles between all of the Child Advocacy Centers across the state and raised approximately $1.4 million in cash and in-kind donations for these organizations.
